How to use the override scale

Fine-tune spacing, font size, and other advanced styling on a single section using the -2 to 3 scale.

Most sections have an Advanced styling group at the bottom of their settings. It's hidden by default so sections stay consistent with each other; switching it on lets you nudge one specific section away from the theme's defaults.

  1. Open the theme editor and select the section you'd like to adjust.
  2. Scroll to Advanced styling and switch on Override default styles.
  3. Adjust whichever sliders appear for that section: typically Space above, Space below, Heading size, Text size, and Alignment. Some sections add their own, like Framing text size or a Background image.
  4. Each slider runs from -2 to 3: -2 is much smaller (or, for spacing, much tighter), 0 is the theme's default, and 3 is much larger.
  5. Preview your change and adjust until it looks right, then save.

This same -2 to 3 scale also appears on individual blocks (under each block's own Advanced styling group), so you can override just one block within a section without switching on the section-level override.
