You're browsing your new store and spot "Powered by Shopify" in the footer. Not the most professional look.
Good news - you can remove it in about 2 minutes without touching any code.
Here's how to do it:
1. Navigate to Online Store > Themes
From your Shopify admin, click on Online Store in the left sidebar, then select Themes.
2. Click Actions > Edit Languages
Find your current theme and click the Actions dropdown. Select "Edit Languages" (not "Edit Code").
3. Search for "powered" in the filter box
You'll see a search box at the top. Type "powered" and hit enter. This will show you all the places where "Powered by Shopify" appears.
4. Replace the text with a single space
You'll see a box labelled "Powered by Shopify." Delete the text and press the spacebar once to add a single space. Don't leave it completely empty, or the text will reappear.
5. Click Save
Hit the Save button in the top right corner.
That's it! The "Powered by Shopify" text should now be gone from your store footer.
Pro tips
Password page: If your store is password-protected, you'll also see a "Powered by Shopify HTML" box - remove that text too.
Theme changes: If you switch themes later, you'll need to do this again (the setting is per-theme).
Theme purchase: If you're using a paid theme, you won't be able to do this until you've purchased it.
