The setup of your collection pages can play a huge role in how many people click through to your product pages (and get that bit closer to converting!)
An easy way to optimise your collection pages is to ensure that they're in an order that makes sense.
Have you got products that look similar? If so, it may make sense to ensure they're spaced out in your collection pages so users can see the variety in your product range.
Similarly, if you've got certain products that you're hoping to shift, bumping them further up the page could be beneficial, as more users are likely to see them there.
Shopify offers eight different options for reordering your products:
- Best selling - this is based on how many of each product your store has sold ever. If you're a new store (and yet to make your first sale), products will be sorted by Newest to Oldest.
- Product title A-Z
- Product title Z-A
- Highest price
- Lowest price
- Newest
- Oldest
- Manually
Pro tip: if you change the sort order to Manually you won't be able to revert it to one of the automatically calculated orders later. For this reason, we only recommend the manual sort order for small collections; this way, it's manageable when products are added/removed.
Let's jump into how to reorder your products in Shopify.
1. Navigate to the collection editor

2. Open the collection you'd like to edit the sort order of
3. Select the Sort dropdown, and adjust this accordingly

That's it! A super easy way to help direct users to the products you want them to get to.
